The Barrhaven is inspired by one of Ottawa’s fastest-growing suburban communities, where routines run deep and life rarely slows down for long. School pickups, grocery runs, evening practices, long commutes, and somehow still finding time to sit down with a proper coffee.

Built around our Sumatra, this roast delivers deep dark chocolate richness, earthy warmth, and a full-bodied cup with smooth low-acid comfort. Bold without harsh bitterness, it’s the kind of coffee made for long days, quiet evenings, and finally getting a moment to yourself after everything else is done.

But beneath the busy intersections and growing neighbourhoods lies a fascinating history. Barrhaven was almost built around a racetrack envisioned by developer Melville Barr before becoming the suburban community it is today. Hidden throughout the area are reminders of its past: century-old farmhouses, the historic 1906 schoolhouse at Jockvale and Strandherd, and traces of the ancient Champlain Sea that once covered the region thousands of years ago.

The Barrhaven reflects that same balance of movement and grounding. Fast-paced on the surface. Rooted underneath.
